I guess I'm missing the point here, because the article doesn't match the title. Are you saying that someone suggesting you listen to a speaker she enjoys is "weaponizing" that speaker against you, because that speaker's advice didn't work for you? Many people suggest speakers or authors to me whose advice doesn't work for me. Are all of them out to get me and trying to "weaponize" those speakers against me? In fact multiple people told me to listen to Brene Brown, just as they did with you. What she "preaches" doesn't resonate with me. Vulnerability isn't safe for me, and really isn't appropriate in a work environment anyhow. Here's the thing though. I'm an adult. My choices are my responsibility. If I choose to read a book or listen to a talk. and then I choose to act on the advice in it, those are MY choices. How is that someone else's fault?
